An article was published earlier today claiming that Dr. Lisa Su was eyeing up a high-level position at IBM. WCCFTech’s sources - who are said to have a “significant overlap” with those that offered accurate leaks in the past - say there have been murmurs of the successful red team CEO’s potential departure. Fortunately for red team fans, however, it wasn’t long before the good doctor dismissed these claims as false on Twitter. Dr. Lisa Su has been with AMD since 2012, that’s the same year that the company headed up its now very successful semi-custom division. Su joined as the senior VP and GM overseeing global business, and then COO, before swiftly taking the top job of CEO and president in 2014. And you’re probably aware of the success the semiconductor company has had since that time. AMD Ryzen is now winning over market share from Intel, most recently with the concerted efforts of its engineers on Ryzen 3000 on 7nm, and AMD’s semi-custom division is ramping up for the next-gen PlayStation and Project Scarlett from both Sony and Microsoft, respectively.
