Elden Ring will reportedly be shown as Gamescom, but not to the public

Elden Ring is one of the big exciting mysteries of videogames right now. It's a collaboration between Dark Souls and Sekiro developer From Software, creator Hidetaka Miyazaki, and Game of Thrones author and serial procrastinator George RR Martin. It was announced as part of Microsoft's conference at E3 2019 with a cryptic teaser trailer, but otherwise we haven't seen any of the actual game yet. That may change at Gamescom later this month, as reports are coming in that Elden Ring will be shown at the European games event - however, the report also states that it will not be a public showing, and the game will only be demonstrated to the press. This is according to a report by Russian gaming website Igromania (via ResetEra). In an article about Gamescom and the publishers making an appearance there, the site mentions Bandai Namco and the games the publisher will be showing - where it notes that Bandai Namco will show From Software's Elden Ring to the press alone.
