You won’t need to free up 175GB on your gaming PC to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare at launch. Despite the recommended specs released earlier this week claiming to require vast bits and bytes to the grand total of 175GB, Activision’s David Hodgson says that the initial download will be smaller when the game launches on October 25, 2019. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s system requirements released earlier this week, and have since been officially confirmed over on the Activision Games Blog. For the most part, the game requires only a moderate gaming PC to run, however, one requirement stuck out to our weary eyes: the 175GB disk space requirement. Thankfully, Activision’s David Hodgson has since cleared up COD’s insatiable hunger for storage in a blog post. “In each of the specs, the HDD references HD space of 175GB. 175GB is the storage space we recommend players keep available in order to download the post-launch content we’ll be bringing to Modern Warfare. At launch, the initial download will be smaller.”
